Starting at the confluence of three valleys with glacial origin, Tera, Cárdenas and Segundera, this route will take us to one of the most open landscapes of the Sanabria lake. Starting at Ribadelago Viejo we will follow up the ancient path that took worker and material up to the dam works in the 40s. of last century. At the same time we can appreciate the marks of the last ice age, marked on the rocks around us …
When we almost reach the top, we will make a detour to visit the some ponds, these ones are natural. We will return to Cárdenas and his dam, to soon begin to descend through your valley. This day is a softer hike one that passes through the villages of this Sanabria region. We are going to know these ancient bonds be-tween peoples, the surroundings and its rural and millenary archi-tecture. Vigo de Sanabria, Trefácio and Galende are just a few where we will walk….

From Sotillo, we cross the Truchas river to enter a lush forest on the way to the waterfall, the path initially follows forestall tracks little further it becomes a footpath. We go to the Lagoon in first from Sotillo, look out over the plateau and contemplate the river being born before seeing it jump into the void in the jump. We will return to the waterfall by the same path. Here, we continue along another path back to Sotillo. We take the opportunity to take photos and rest. From this point we will always go down towards Sotillo through the forest, hoping to see some roe deer running and hiding.
