Your Camino begins in the city of Porto on the banks of the River Douro. This is Portugal’s second-largest city and one of Europe’s oldest, with a population of 1.5 million and 2000 years of history. Not only is Porto’s World Heritage-listed center filled with history, it’s also home to colorful houses and winding cobblestone streets lined with wine bars and seafood restaurants.
At 15.00h at the lobby the hotel your guide will briefly outline the coming few days of walking and answer any questions.Then we will go to visit the historic center of the city, including a visit to a famous Porto winery for a wine, after which we will have a lively typical Portuguese dinner with Fados.

After breakfast we will be transferred from Porto to Obelisco da Memoria where we will start our Camino. We follow the Way along the beautiful Portuguese coast going by many quaint villages and beaches until we reach the town of Vila do Conde.
Lunch in a typical restaurant for a menu of Portuguese food. Then we will travel in our bus to the city of Viana do Castelo. Climb on the funicular to the Santa Luzia mountain, to discover spectacular views of the city, visit the Sacred Heart of Jesus Shrine.

An exciting day as you cross from Portugal into Spain. Continue along the coastline towards Caminha, where you’ll need to take a ferry across the River Minho to Galicia. After disembarking the ferry it’s a short walk to A Guarda. Visit to the Monte de Santa Tegra, an ancient Celtic settlement, which offers breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and Galicia’s verdant countryside. A Guarda – a fisherman’s port – is also known for its shellfish, where we will have a delicious lunch.

Today, the way out of the gorgeous town of Baiona will have you alongside a sandy beach for most of the day. You will enjoy fantastic views of the Bay of Vigo, with the magnificent Illas Cíes and its Natural Park on the horizon..You will have regular opportunity to stop in a local cafe along the beach. You will then enter a typical galician entrance of Vigo to Samil.

Today we will complete our stage at the foot of the Camino de la Costa, from the outskirts of Vigo to Redondela. A stage that will offer us spectacular views of the Vigo estuary. After the walk we will finish our stage with a meal in a traditional tavern in this part of Spain, a “Furancho”. Transfer back to Vigo

On this day, we will walk from Ponte Sampaio to the center of Pontevedra (13 km). After our stage we will have a splendid lunch in a downtown restaurant, where we will taste the best of Galician cuisine. Accommodation and dinner at the 4 **** hotel in Pontevedra. Previously our guides will make a walk through the historic center of Pontevedra to visit among other places the Shrine of the Pilgrim MTA.

We continue our Camino de Santiago by “Variante Espiritual”, following the route that was followed 2,000 years ago by the remains of the Apostle Santiago on his transfer from Palestine to Santiago de Compostela. We begin the day with a visit to the Monastery of Poio and its beautiful mosaics dedicated to the Camino de Santiago. After this visit we will move to the beautiful fishing village of Combarro and then we start our stage on foot to the Monastery of Armenteira. Another stage in full nature through forests to Armenteira. Lunch in the area of Armenteira and visit the Monastery. Transfer back to Pontevedra and free time to get to know this beautiful city.

This journey will take us from Armenteira to Ponte Arnelas, covering the route of “Stone and Water Route“, a path that borders the small river Armenteira, framed by exuberant vegetation and peaceful and picturesque corners. We continue in a northerly direction passing through Ribadumia and Ponte Arnelas, to reach the coast in Vilanova de Arousa.
At the end of our stage we will move to Cambados to enjoy a visit to an exclusive winery, where we will taste in a unique environment the best typical Albariño wines of the Rías Bajas and a selection of tapas After lunch, we will move to our hotel.

In this stage, from Vilanova to Pontecesures, the maritime route begins, the so-called Traslatio. After setting sail in Vilanova, we go up the beautiful Ría de Arousa until it reaches the mouth of the Ulla River and navigates its last stretch to the final destination. Along the way, you can see the only maritime or fluvial way of the cross in the world, a collection of 17 crosses that mark the route of the Apostle. According to tradition, the stone boat with the body of Santiago reached Iria Flavia, near the current town of Padrón and it is at this point that the Spiritual Variant rejoins the Portuguese Central Way.
We will visit Padrón, famous for its peppers and ascend to the place known as Santiaguiño do Monte, where the Jacobean tradition also indicates that the Apostle preached during his trip to Roman Hispania. Lunch at a restaurant in Padrón.

Today’s stage of this Camino begins in Padron, to take us through the beautiful village of Iria Flavia (Old Roman episcopal see until the foundation of Santiago), the Church of Picaraña, and many other villages and forests to Milladoiro, at the gates of Santiago, from where we will already glimpse the towers of the Cathedral.

Finally the great day has come!!! We will walk together on our last steps until we reach the magnificent Plaza del Obradoiro in Santiago and thus complete our pilgrimage in time for the Pilgrim’s Mass at noon!!
In the evening we will have a very special farewell dinner full of surprises , we will receive our certificate of visit to the Cathedral issued by the Cathedral Chapter.

After breakfast, we will have a complete visit of the historical center with a local guide, to get to know the corners and the history of this Holy City created around the Sepulcher of the Apostle.
After these visits, we will go to the perfect epilogue of our pilgrimage, Finisterre, the end of the world baptized by the Romans and that today is the final goal of many pilgrims, who continue walking until the end of the world known in antiquity. We will have lunch in the port of Finisterre, with the best products from the Galician coasts, after which we will visit the lighthouse, its cliffs and the famous 0 (zero) kilometer of the Camino de Santiago. Before returning to Santiago, we will make another brief stop in Muxía, another Jacobean landmark, and its Sanctuary of the Virgin of La Barca, who appeared to Santiago on a stone boat in the sea when he was preaching on Iberian lands . Return to Santiago
